Mano Maritime, an Israeli shipping company, is set to initiate special cruise voyages in collaboration with Israel's Transportation Ministry to bring back Israeli voters stranded in Cyprus. The return trips will utilize the company's luxurious cruise ship, the Crown Iris, which has a capacity of 2,000 passengers.
The operation is expected to kick off with its first cruise departing from Limassol, Cyprus, on Wednesday. However, the departure will depend on the security situation in the region, requiring prior approval from Israel's defense government and other relevant authorities.
Once the ship arrives in Israel with the first group of passengers, it will then return to Limassol for a second round trip. Each journey is estimated to take around 15 hours. The Crown Iris will briefly stop in Limassol to allow for boarding before making its way back to Israel.
Described by the company as a five-star floating hotel, the ship is intended to provide a temporary but comfortable solution for those looking to return home. Reservations for the cruise can only be made through Mano Maritime's official website, with ticket prices ranging from $399 to $650 per person.
Mano Maritime has stated that these prices are lower than the actual operational costs, considering the current national situation. The fare includes various special arrangements in Cyprus, such as passport control procedures and additional security measures necessary for the voyage.
The company highlighted that this initiative aims to assist Israeli citizens during a challenging time, offering a reliable sea-based option to return home as other routes remain uncertain.
